Kendell Scott is a guitarist thoroughly rooted in rock, marinated in bluegrass, and tossed around in some Texas singer-songwriters.
The resulting stylistic flavor is full of ripe tone and relatable themes that connect listeners with Kendell's passion-driven music. Still a young man in his twenties, he has quickly developed musical sensibilities that give the music an entertaining and relaxed, honest appeal.
Hailing from the town of Effingham, Illinois, Kendell was inspired to pick up the electric guitar because of two things: AC/DC, and the game Guitar Hero. That love of classic rock grew into a love of '90s country music and Americana folk music, as well as his first professional gig at age 15.
Kendell began expanding his influences after hearing alt. country bands like Cross Canadian Ragweed and the Drive-By Truckers. After a stint in Nashville soaking up all the music related things he could, Kendell started performing as a "hired gun" for several regional country bands including Craig Gerdes, The Matt Poss Band, and Mitch Faulkner & the MFB.
Kendell's guitar playing has been featured at numerous music festivals in the Midwest like Moccasin Creek Festival, Summer Sundown, and the Wander Down Music Festival, as well as on tours across Europe and the Deep South.
